" ... I used it 6 weeks before a race last year and I thought it definitely helped, although during the loading phase only, I felt weak and pathetic on the bike. I used it again this year starting 6 weeks before the race, and felt kinda cruddy the whole time, but generally better once I got on my bike and rode. I lost 7 lbs in the last 2 weeks, despite trying hard to be right on about nutrition, eating the right stuff at the right time. Mixed blessing I think, because I continued to feel kinda cruddy for the race, and had one of my worst races in a long time. In the last 2-3 weeks, I would say the stuff caused some very low grade nausea for me, which is likely part of my weight loss. I stopped taking it after the race (2 days ago), the nausea is gone, but I'm depressed! Is it the race results or the supplement, or just me? "

" ... I used Optygen HP for about 2 months during this past year. I never noticed the supposed benefit I should have gotten from it. I never noticed an increase in recovery time or decrease in lactic acid build up. I did notice some unusual side effects. At the end of the 2 months I had 2 nights of emotional break-down (I'm not an emotional person). I stopped taking HP and the break-downs also stopped. Haven't started using it again. 3 friends of mine also had adverse (though minor) side effects that caused them to stop using it as well. I think more study needs to be done on its effects on women! "
